Turning Stone Goes Online With New Casino App

New York State’s first land-based casino is now online.

At the end of March, the Turning Stone Resort Casino announced the launch of a new Simulated Gaming mobile and desktop app giving users access to the casino’s loyalty program and a variety of free-to-play casino games.

The Turning Stone Online Casino features more than 50 online slots and table games. It is available at through the Turning Stone website on desktop computers or mobile devices, and can also be downloaded through the App Store and Google Play.

The app was developed through a partnership with gaming software systems and online gaming content developer GAN. It also includes KONAMI Gaming’s SYNKROS casino management system.

While a wide variety of popular slots, video poker and table games are available on the app, it is not considered online gambling because players cannot make real-money wagers. New York State legislators are not currently considering legalizing online casino gambling operations. However, should they ever do so, this app leaves Turning Stone just a click away from entering the market.

When it first opened in 1993, the Turning Stone Casino Resort in Verona, New York was New York’s first and only land-based casino.

In the 24 years since the doors opened, the Native American Casino has developed into a full-service resort and casino with a myriad of gaming, golf, entertainment, dining, spa and accommodation options. It is owned and operated by the Oneida Nation.

According to a press release regarding the app’s launch, Turning Stone selected GAN to develop the product because of the company’s capabilities in providing both real money and social gaming experiences.

GAN has a lengthy track record of developing casino slot machines and table games into online games with manufacturers including Aristocrat, Ainsworth, KONAMI, Everi , Incredible Technologies, GamoMat, Reel Time Gaming, High Flyer Games and Scientific Games. The company has also licensed gaming content to a number of European online gaming operators including Bet365, Betfair, PaddyPower, William Hill, Rank, Lottomatica, Sisal and SNAI.

In the United States, GAN has partnered with Betfair to provide its real-money online gaming system in New Jersey.

The company has also partnered with Empire City Casino in New York, Parx in Pennsylvania, and Maryland Live! Casino in Maryland to launch Simulated Gaming websites and apps.

GAN claims its Simulated Gaming systems have proven to increase property visitation among existing players, reactivate lapsed players bringing them back on-property and drive acquisition of new players from outside the typical distance to the property.

“Turning Stone has intelligently placed its highly-regarded loyalty program at the heart of their new Simulated Gaming consumer proposition which has already delivered high levels of online engagement with their casino patrons,” said GAN CEO Dermot Smurfit. “We look forward to a successful and long term relationship with one of New York State’s longest-established casino operators.”
