Meet the Mets, greet the Mets, and hail Caesar, as Caesars sportsbook has been named the New York Mets’ official sportsbook partner with mere hours to go before opening day of the 2022 season.

While there’s no word if J.B. Smoove and Halle Berry (or for that matter, Cooper Manning) will be making appearances in Flushing, the sportsbook will notably be the sponsor of the brand new sportsbook at Citi Field, the Caesars Sportsbook at the Metro Grille, which is a 13,000-square-foot, multi-tiered dining room and outdoor patio seating area overlooking left field. It’s expected to open sometime during the 2022 season.

“New York is a key state for us following the successful launch of our Caesars Sportsbook app in January,” Chris Holdren, the co-president of Caesars Digital, said in a press release announcing the deal. “The Mets’ fanbase is one of the most loyal in baseball and this partnership offers us the chance to treat those passionate fans like Caesars. We look forward to opening our space at Citi Field during an exciting time for the franchise.”

While receiving the naming rights for the sportsbook, Caesars will be offering the Mets faithful a series of VIP experiences and “hospitality assets” for members of Caesars Rewards, the company’s loyalty program.

Signage and more

Caesars, which has thus far settled into third place in the handle wars in New York (behind FanDuel and DraftKings), will also be allowed to have access to official New York Mets logos and marks, TV-visible in-game signage, and broadcast and digital content across Mets properties as a result of this partnership, according to the release.

The Mets open the season Thursday against the Nationals in Washington, with their home opener scheduled for Friday, April 15, against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
